A perfect ecological adventure

Last Sunday, I went to Singapore Zoo. It was really a perfect ecological adventure. After visiting, I had known what an international zoo meant.

I went to the Night Safari some weeks ago and didn’t see too many animals because the light was dim and some animals went to sleep. So at first I didn’t expect much of this visit. But when I stepped into the zoo, my thought was totally changed.

There were a lot of tropical plantations in the zoo so I took out my camera and was ready to take photos when I felt something touching my feet. I looked down, and nearly screamed. It was a Cotton-top Tamarin, a kind of small cute monkey, which was just running past me! My eyes followed it and found it stopped to eat some fruit on the barrier next to me. How could it be! In my opinion, a zoo meant a place where animals were kept in cages and people passed by to see them. But here I could even touch them. It was really different from my view. So I got very excited and was so expectable of my journey.

I saw a lot of animals which I hadn’t seen before. The white tiger left a great impression on me. These three tiger were all white and liked the tigers appeared in the legend story. When we took photos, they showed the best gestures to us and looked straight at the camera, liking the guys who wanted to be taken photos. The Komodo Dragon was the largest lizard in the world. It was so large that could easily kill a people. When I saw it, it was having a sunbathing on the sand. How comfortable! I had heard that the giant tortoise was the world’s largest tortoise. But I was shocked when I saw the big creatures. When I was far away, I thought they were figures in stone because they were so large and didn’t move. But after coming closely, I found they were real tortoise and were moving slowly. There was a little kid standing beside me and the tortoise was obviously taller than him. Then I saw kangaroos, otters, rattlesnakes, polar bear and a lot of marvelous animals and all of them surprised me.

There were three animal shows in the zoo. The elephant show, the rainforest show and the splash safari. Any of them was better than the shows I had seen before. You will never want to miss them.

The adventure was really amazing. It was an international standard zoo. I enjoyed it very much. If you have the time, please try. You will never regret.

  1. I am glad you enjoyed the visit to the zoo very much - it's one of the best in the world. This is the concept of ecological zoo, where animals are kept in their natural habitat, not caged with only sleeping space. You can enjoy a picnic too with friends and spend a pleasant day. Jurong Bird Park is another wonderful place to spend a day. The bird shows are fantastic. Enjoy.
