We Should Enjoy Our Rights!

Have you ever sensed that many of us spare a lot of time to complain about things around us? We would complain about our living conditions, or our studying and so on. We think we live the most miserable life in the world and we are the most unfortunate ones of all the people!
But do you know why do we complain about this much? Sometimes we complain merely because we come across certain difficulties, and they are so difficult that we would complain about it unconsciously. But in more cases, we complain by the reason of the dissatisfaction towards what we already have or achieved in our life, we pour much of our desire on things which do not belong to us right then. Maybe it is a human nature to desire for more, but do you know even if we are allowed to have whatever we demand for, we will go on to have more desires.
Maybe it is because we are qualified with so many rights and we enjoy so many privileges in our lives that we take everything in our life for granted. We exaggerate the value of the things we don’t have and underestimate the value of the things which belong to us. These contradictions make us feel more exhausted, and thus spending more time on complaining.
As a Persian proverb puts it “I complained I had no feet until I met someone who had no feet!”
This proverb shed a new light on my mind that we should not ignore those who are in a poorer condition than us. We should it keep in mind that while we are sitting in such a highly equipped room, there are large quantities of students even don’t enjoy the right to go to school; while we are showing our dissatisfaction towards our cell phones, we should inform ourselves that so many pupils in some parts of the world are employed to work ten hours a day or more to earn money for their families. Compared with them, don’t we think we are the happiest in the world?
What’s more, some statistics show that the index of happiness in some rural areas is averagely higher than that in urban areas, especially in developed countries. The reasons are given as the people in rural areas appreciate what they occupy more, and they set their goals in life much more appropriately! Even they are not that well off, they are happier.
We should happy enough, because we are given all the rights we should be equipped. But we take them for granted too often and forget to give thanks to all the rights we have and the things we earn.

  1. Yes, I completely agree with you.
We complain because we want more.
Those poor people who really suffer hardship are always mute instead, because they are seldom heard.

    How lucky we are!
We should appreciate all the happiness we are enjoying, and spare no effort to raise the poor people's life condition!
    It's our common dream.

  2. Human being is the creatrue with desire. Feeling content makes us be happier! There is a great deal of wisdom of this sentence~!
