Heal the World

There is a place in your heart
And I know that is love
And this place could be much brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel there's no hurt or sorrow

These are some lines of lyrics taken from Micheal Jackson's famous song--Heal the World which expresses his dream for a totally harmonious, equal and peaceful world.

Before this week's learning about human rights and studying into some cases,I didn't expect there exist so many people suffering and so much abuse, inequality, disrimination in our world.I thought people who are going through miseries only accounted for a small percentage of the whole population. But it turned out that I am extremely wrong.

In Muslim areas there are many limitations and discimination toward women.Women are not allowed to go out alone unless they are with their fathers, husbands or sons.Nor can they talk to men outside their families. If they are found doing so,those so-called moral policemen can whip them at once without giving women chances to explain.
How cruel it is!Women also have their own contributions to their communities, societies and the whole world. They deserve equal chances to work ,to get paid and to fulfill their dreams as men.

Now I can fully understand what my class teacher said to us over and again in our senior high school."I don't expect that all of you can become celebrities in the future. But at least you ought to be an upright and kindhearted people. If after all your years' efforts, you become rich or important in this society, please please don't forget there are still poeple suffering around you and please please try your best to help them.Maybe years later you can't remember my appearance or even totally forget me,but please remember my words. Then I can say as a teacher I am successful."

As the younger generation who will build our future world,we should realize our responsibility to heal the world and bravely take on it.

As Micheal Jackson sings in the song:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me
And the dream we were convinced in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace

  5. About the Muslim custom, I think religion is something like spiritual ballast. Maybe I'm not supposed to criticize about religious matters, but it should preach the good part of human nature and be updated. When a kind of religion is questioned by the majority, I'm afraid it will sooner or later lose its popularity.
