It's March 15th

It’s march 15th this Monday, I’m really curious what kind of event the CCTV will hold for this annual festival. The day is set as a reminder for the whole society to protest cheating consumers.

Living abroad, I can’t help caring about what people think of China. Especially it is Singapore, a developed country which heavily relies on importing goods from neighborhood, China included.

China wins herself fame by the brand “Made in China”, symbolizing the low price, on the other side, the not so good quality as well. Even a Chinese himself will choose the Canon digital camera made in Japan instead of the ones made in China, because it is widely known that “made in Japan” has a better quality over “made in china”. Though a little bit frustrated, we have to admit it is the truth.

When the government is trying to improving China’s international economy status by combining the high quality together with the cheap price, many factories still cut the cost of the material they use, the hygiene they have to ensure, the quality monitoring, or the equipment they need to install, etc. to make bigger profits, by which the brand “ Made in China” is spoilt. But the fact is, while “Made in China” is becoming less and less competitive by losing its quality, “Made in Brazil”, “Made in India”, “Made in Indonesia” and other brand are rising. Although there has already some internal company trying so, they usually dominate little market. At the same time, China is losing another big competitive factor, that is, the labor’s price is no longer cheap but is increasing step by step. Along with the development progress, China will be taken away the title“the global manufacturer”. So now we must shift the focus from price to quality, namely transfer the mainstay industry from making to technique, but remain our economic independence. In this way we can guarantee the consumer’s right and also our own future.

On the other hand, we shall not only improve our quality of goods but also the after sale service, making our consumers trust our products. One of another reason why people choose the mobile phone Nokia or LG or Sumsang instead of the internal obscure mobile phone brand is their trustworthy after- sale service. So once we improve our quality as well as the after-sale service, the market will be improved despite the rise in price.

But we cannot owe all the fault to the industry. Industry under the market economy is eternally pursuing the biggest profits with the least cost. So we must cut off the profit resource, that is to say, for the group whose financial situation permits, they must choose the good ones. Once this is done, the decline of the market will force the industry to focus on improving its quality and service.

As a consumer, I think we cannot only demand for protection, but also consider for our country.

  1. Maybe the only reason I can give is that China is still very young. That is the problem our country meet recently because of the high-speed development. And we konw the problem, so it's our turn to find the solution in the future.

  2. Today ms lin told us that israel had more than 7000 patents while it only had 7 million people. however, china has 1.3 billion people, we have fewer patents. why? Aren't we clever enough? I don't think so. i think first china's education mode make students less creative. Second, china's economic mode make the industry less competive. So if we want to change "made in chian" into "create in china", we should reform our education and economic mode first.
