When I first saw you, I thought you were just in your forties. So you know how surprised I was when I knew that you were already over 70 years old. There is a famous saying that “The beauty of a woman increases with the candles on her birthday cake.” You conquered our hearts with your unique charm.
You are humorous. When I close my eyes every Thursday night, your impressive words as well as actions will appear vividly in my mind. Your facial expressions are so cute that I can’t help laughing.
I got to like you even the first time I met you. Because I knew the person who step in the classroom that morning would be my mentor. During the weeks, I feel I like you more and more. You’re so kind that you brought us dried meat and confectioneries. You’re so attractive that you made up original stories and gave us inspiration. You’re so sophisticated that you informed us so much from cuisine to history. You make us feel comfortable. It seems that you are our friend or relative more than a tutor.
To be frank, I was yearning for our tour long time ago. I thought it would be definitely interesting to go out with such a lively person as you. So, you know, I have been waiting for it for a long time. Sometimes you didn’t show up on Thursdays. Sometimes you coughed now and then as you were talking with us. Are you still busy now? Are you still in good health? Are you missing us? Are you…?
I do miss you. Maybe I’m not so active or participative in your classes, but I really enjoy them. I hope you are fine and wish you a nice weekend.

Hi Elain I had to go in for an emergency operation last Tuesday night and then I had shingles, which is the elderly person form of chicken pox. SO the doctor did not want me to go back to work till 5 April as people who have not had chicken pox may get it. SO to be safe I will keep away. I miss Thursdays too. Please tell the class I am recovering very well. Thanks for all the nice things you said.
ReplyDeleteWe all miss her a lot. And I was shocked two when I knew Ms Yap's age. I never saw another lady at that age with that enthusiasm. She is recovering very well and will soon meet us. By the way, the dried meet was really delicious!~
ReplyDeleteYes, Mrs Yap is so humorous and enthusiastic that we all miss her very much. It has been two weeks since she came to our class. Hoping that she will recover soon and bring us much laughter!
ReplyDeleteWhat you wrote just expresses what I want to say. I felt so sorry when I heard that Mrs Yap was in hospital. I was so touched that she did not forget to collect the essay and summary. I just hope that she can have a good rest. I wish Mrs Yap can recover soon sincerely.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you! What Ms Yap impressed me most is not only her humor, but also what she educated us, especially etiquettes. I appreciate it most that she regularly donates blood. People like her are bound to remain healthy both physically and mentally! Best wishes to Ms Yap!
ReplyDeleteMrs Yap, we all miss you a lot, and all of us hope to see you soon at the Thursday class.
ReplyDeleteWish Mrs Yap can recover soon~
